So the time trial was on September 16th, but I'm just now getting around to my report.  My computer at home has been dismantled because we're replacing the carpet in our computer room with a laminate wood floor, so I haven't been able to update the website.  But this report will be short and simple!

How'd I do at the 40k State Championship Time Trial?  Dead last in my age group!  OUCH!

As reported in my Desperado Dual report, I took some time off my bike and I still haven't gotten back into a bicycle commuting or training routine.  I've also been doing some traveling for work, including a week long trip to San Francisco for VMWorld the week before the time trial, so I didn't get much ... ok... ANY training in before the time trial.  I also continue to miscalculate drive time and got to the start without enough time for a proper warm-up.  I knew I was in trouble when I got on my trainer to start my warm-up and my heart rate immediately went to zone 3.  I couldn't get it down at all.  I was completely unprepared and out of shape for this event.  That also made me a bit worried about the Durango Fall Blaze that was only a short two weeks away!  So I got the result I deserved for the amount of preparation I put in for this ride.  Don't prepare, come in last.  Lesson learned! ;-)
